Our Story: An Alabama Writers' Symposium Tickets, Fri, Apr 21, 2023 at 8:30  AM | Eventbrite TUSCUMBIA-Alabama Literacy Association, with the University of North Alabama, will host Our Story: An Alabama Writers’ Symposium on Friday, April 21, 2023 at the Helen Keller Public Library in Tuscumbia.

 

North Carolina Poet Laureate Joseph Bathanti

New York Times best-selling author Patti Callahan Henry, along with North Carolina Poet Laureate Joseph Bathanti will present keynote sessions.

 

Breakout sessions will be led by Henry and Bathanti along with University of North Alabama professor Dr. Jason McCall, Dr. Katie Owens-Murphy and Dr. Lorie Johnson.

 

This event is made possible by a grant from the Alabama Humanities Alliance.

 

Teachers, students, writers, readers, historians, community members – all are welcome to attend. The event is open to the public.

Patti Callahan Henry

Patti Callahan Henry is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author of sixteen novels and a podcast host. She is the recipient of The Christy Award “Book of the Year”; The Harper Lee Distinguished Writer of the Year for 2020 and the Alabama Library Association Book of the Year for 2019.
