FLORENCE – The University of North Alabama has launched a comprehensive learning agreement with the State of Alabama that applies to all employees in every state agency and includes all online baccalaureate and graduate degree programs.

“This initiative is significant to UNA and state employees at all levels,” said Provost and Executive Vice President Dr. Ross Alexander. “This was a collaborative effort between UNA and State Personnel Director Ms. Jackie Graham. She offered vision, leadership, facilitation, and coordination to assist UNA in accomplishing this vital mission for Alabama’s employees.”

Employees will be able to enroll in these programs immediately at generous tuition scholarships. Further, UNA is home to specialized degree programs that are beneficial to individual state agencies, including:

  • The M.S. in Social Work and M.S. in Family and Community Services for the Department of Human Resources or Department of Youth Services;
  • The B.S. and M.S. in Criminal Justice for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Bureau of Pardons and Paroles, and the Department of Corrections;
  • The M.S.N. and B.S. in Applied Health Services for the Alabama Department of Public Health;
  • The B.B.A. and M.B.A., which could be beneficial to numerous types of jobs and agencies, and many more.

“As always, UNA is focused on the workforce and providing flexible competitively-priced online degree programs,” Dr. Alexander said. “We are a leader in that field, and this is an opportunity for employees at state agencies across Alabama to take advantage of those programs. They have dedicated their careers to public service, and we want to assist them in achieving their educational goals.”
