LAWRENCEBURG – Two North Alabama truckers died yesterday in a highway-speed head on collision just north of the state line. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that Tuscumbia resident, 59-year-old Joseph Redford; and Mark Wenger, 50, of Waterloo died from their injuries they sustained when their 18-wheelers collided head-on at 4:30 Wednesday afternoon. The wreck happened on U.S. Highway 64 a few miles to the west of Waynesboro.
Wenger died at the scene of the crash. Redford was taken by air ambulance to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville. He succumbed to his injuries around 11:00 Wednesday night.
