TUSCUMBIA –A “Parade” of decorated porches will once again bring a spirit of joy and celebration to the town of Tuscumbia during  this Christmas season.  All residents within the historic neighborhoods surrounding downtown, and bounded in each direction by the Commons, are invited to participate in the 3rd annual Parade of Holiday Porches.

“The Parade of Porches seems to have become a tradition in Tuscumbia!  People who have participated and decorated their homes in the past have really enjoyed sharing their creativity and their Christmas spirit with their friends and neighbors.  We can’t wait to see the festive atmosphere that this year’s efforts will bring to our town,” said Sue Mangum, one of several organizers of the event.

“We are delighted to continue this fun new tradition again this year,” said Lorie Johnson, president of the Colbert County Historical Landmarks Foundation, the organization which sponsors the event.  “We are so thankful to all who participate and decorate their porches, making the season that much more beautiful and enchanting for each of us. We love highlighting these beautiful displays.”

Information and registration forms may be picked up at Fiddledee D! Gift Shop, 111 S. Main St. or email your request to participate to crimsonsue4bama@gmail.comAll porch registration forms must be received by the deadline, November 10, to be officially included in the Parade of Porches.

The Parade of Porches will run Dec. 8-31, 2023. There is no charge to participate and there will be no charge for people to drive the designated display routes on their own.

An evening Trolley Tour at 5:00 p.m. on Dec. 9 during the Dickens Christmas festival will offer a guided view of the porches.
