Tuscumbia Storm Damage And Link To NWS Storm Survey

UPDATE: The National Weather Service (NWS) confirms an EF1 tornado touched down in Tuscumbia Saturday night.  The NWS estimates that the tornado sustained winds up to 105 mph and was 215 yards in width.  The NWS said the tornado touched down near the intersection of Lamar Avenue and Frankfort Road.

TUSCUMBIA-Late Saturday night and early Sunday morning Tuscumbia experienced a storm event with high winds and rain. There was extensive damage to the downtown rea and some of the surrounding neighborhoods.

The Quad Cities Daily took a few shots of the storm damage and we present them to you here.

The National Weather Service will be surveying storm damage following a round of severe weather that moved into North Alabama late Saturday night.

The NWS says they have surveys scheduled for areas near Russellville, Tuscumbia, Rogersville, and Boaz.
