Tuscumbia Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle Near Athens

ATHENS-The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident has taken place near Athens.  this accident involved a pedestrain who was struck and killed:

“A single-vehicle crash involving a pedestrian that occurred approximately 8 p.m. Saturday, May 2, has claimed the life of a Tuscumbia man.

The pedestrian, Michael A. Fryou, 32, was fatally injured when he was struck in the roadway by a 2011 Lexus RX SUV driven by a 19 year-old woman, of Rogersville. Fryou was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 72 near Zehner Road, approximately six miles west of Athens, in Limestone County.

Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.”
