TUSCUMBIA – Here are a few more photos which were taken over at Tuscumbia’s City Hall grand opening. You can never know when The quad-Cities Daily may show up to photograph. As part of the Federal Art Project (FAP) during the depression, Jack McMillen, New York artist was commissioned on Sept. 15, 1938 to paint the mural. He was paid $560 in 3 installments. It was shipped on April 29, 1939 and installed a few days later. H. G. Sockwell was Postmaster.The FAP’s primary goals were to employ out-of-work artists and to provide art for non-federal government buildings: schools, hospitals, libraries, etc
