HUNTSVILLE -The Huntsville Police department released more information on the shooting death that occurred on Tuesday, June 21:
“UPDATE ON TUESDAY SHOOTING DEATH
The Huntsville Police has released additional information about the shooting that left 16 year old Mustafa Bearfield dead, and 50 year old Jonathan Wayne Scott charged with Manslaughter.
The shooting happened in the area of 10th Avenue and 4th Street around 7:00 a.m. yesterday. When officers arrived they found 16 year old Mustafa Bearfield dead from a gunshot wound, and Scott was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
The shooting happened after the victim was seen allegedly taking items from inside Scott’s vehicle, and as he was running from the scene he was shot.
Like all crimes of this nature, the case will also be presented to a Grand Jury by the Madison County District Attorney’s Office.”
