Trebor Morris Ambrose, age 87, died peacefully in her sleep on April 9, 2026 at El Reposo Nursing home. She was the daughter of Robert Hunt and Lillie Leake Morris of Medina TN. She is survived by her husband Melton Ambrose MD. They were married for 67 years. Their marriage produced four children: Mel (Cyndy), Mike (Melanie), Richie (Lori), and John Ambrose. Grandchildren – Mel Ambrose III (Lara); Stephen Ambrose (Leah), Abby Matlock (Logan), Mitchell Ambrose (Ashley), Luke Ambrose, Spencer (Presley) Ambrose, Andrew Ambrose, Oliver Ambrose and 8 great grandchildren.
She was raised in Medina, TN where she graduated from high school. She played basketball for Medina and was an excellent defender during the time women teams had six players and only played on one end of the court. She received a bachelor’s degree from Union University in Jackson TN.
She was a long-time member of the Helton Drive Church of Christ. She loved to worship with the saints whenever they met, and she loved going out to eat with the older crowd after Sunday night services.
Trebor was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her hobbies included needle point and gardening, especially flowers, and sharing them with neighbors or people at church. After Melton retired, she enjoyed going golfing with him and hunting for golf balls while he golfed.
Thank you to their caregivers over the past year especially Jennifer McFall, who lovingly assisted Trebor and Melton as they transitioned from a life of independence to one of dependence. Thank you to Dr. Danny McFall and his staff for the excellent care that was given.
Thank you also to the staff at El Reposo Nursing home where Trebor lived after leaving Florence Rehabilitation. The staff lived up to the reputation of El Reposo. They have been indescribably loving and attentive to Trebor’s needs as well as the needs of the family during this difficult time.
Visitation will be Monday, April 13, 2026, from 10:30-12 noon at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Mel Ambrose III, Mitchell Ambrose, Logan Matlock, Andrew Ambrose, Oliver Ambrose, and Tommy Bailey.
