DECATUR-Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit while on patrol made a routine traffic stop resulting in the arrest of two men. Here is how they describe the events leading up to the arrests:
SYNOPSIS OF OFFENSE & ARREST:
“On 07/31/2014, members of the Decatur Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit were on patrol in the area of Bluebird Ln. SW
While in the area, officers observed a tan colored Kia that was illegally parked on Bluebird Ln. SW just west of Central Parkway. As officers got closer, they observed two males exit the vehicle holding open containers of beer. Officers stopped the males and identified the driver as Mario Quintez Dancy and the passenger as Michael Delon Baker.
When Dancy saw officers, he attempted to pour his beer out onto the street. However, officers were nearby and able to detain Dancy. After further investigation, Dancy was found to be in possession of a quantity of prescription drugs (controlled substance) without having a valid prescription.
It was also determined that Baker had been drinking and was intoxicated to such a state that he was a danger to himself.
Dancy was placed under arrest for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Open Container and Tampering with Physical Evidence. Baker was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication and Open Container.
Dancy will later be transferred to the Morgan County Jail in lieu of a $3,500.000 bond.
Baker will remain in the Decatur City Jail in lieu of a $1,000.00 bond.”
