Bessie Chambless Franks, age 89, of Winfield, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, July 29th, 2014, at the Golden Living Center in Winfield, Alabama.

Ms. Franks was born October 18th, 1924, to the late William and Rosie Tidwell Chambless. She was a housewife and attended school in Fayette, Alabama. She lived on Colony Street in Winfield, Alabama for the last 40 years. Bessie was an avid gardener and loved to participate in the home shopping network from Hamilton on WMTY TV. She was a member of the Baptist Church at Gu-win, Alabama.
She is survived by 1 son, Ronald G. (Doris) Franks, Fargo, N.D.; 1 daughter, Cathy (Mike) Cannon, Beaverton, AL.; 3 grandsons, Shawn, Jason and Matt Franks; and several great-grandchildren; Joe Herron, long time and close friend; 2 sisters, Magdelene Brand, and Luvernia Hassle, both of Fayette, AL.; 2 brothers, Delmus Chambless of Guin, AL., and B. C. Chambless of Mississippi; 3 step-siblings, Justin, Tommy, and Teddy Chambless, all of Fayette, AL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rosie Tidwell Chambless; and her late husband Eugene Franks.
