Tony Dale “Sam” Holladay, age 64, of Huntsville died on Tuesday February 3, 2015.
Sam was a 1970 graduate of Lee High School. He worked at Bruno’s Food Store until he retired. Afterwards, he went to work at the Floyd E. “Tutt” Fann State Veteran’s Home until he fully retired in 2011. Sam never met a stranger and was friends to everyone he would meet. He loved life, gardening and watching old westerns. Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Lee Thomas and Ruby Erline Keel Holladay; and 2 brothers, Thomas Gene Holladay and David Marcus Holladay.
Sam is survived by his son, Shannon Dale Holladay; his sisters, Annette Holladay Holder and Anita Holladay Manley; his brothers, Jimmy Lee Holladay, Billy Dean Holladay, and Ricky Don Holladay; 11 nieces and nephews; his longtime friend and brother in law, Bobby Holder; and special friends and caregivers, Beverly J. Beach and Cathy Gautney.
Funeral service will be on Saturday February 7, 2015 at 10am in the chapel of Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville with Andrew Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Taylor Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday February 6th from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
