Tillman Edward “Ed” Shaddix, 84, of the Morgan City area died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Shaddix was born October 4, 1939 in Eva, AL to W. Floyd Shaddix and Julia S. Miner Shaddix. He was married to the former Marie Whisenant for 42 years.
He served in the United States Army, the United States Army Reserve, and the National Guard for many years. He also worked several years for the City of Arab, the City of Huntsville, and closed out his career serving as Security for several Department of Defense Contractors. He enjoyed competing in Fast Draw with friends and family from Alabama to Ohio and enjoyed spending time with his family. Ed was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife: Marie Ann Shaddix; daughters and son-in-law: Slone and Joel West, Lisa Shaddix; sons and daughter-in-law: Kennith and Lisa Alldredge, Terry Alldredge, Brian Shaddix; Brother: Thomas Leasel Shaddix; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild with another on the way, and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Crawford Burnette,Wiley Cecil Shaddix, Paul Troy Shaddix, Joseph Dwayne Shaddix; and sister: Margie Lucille Burnette.
The funeral will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Arab, AL, with visitation from 1:00-3:00 pm. Pastor Nicky James of Arab Wesleyan Church will be officiating the service and burial at Mount Olive Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Alldredge, Kennith Alldredge, Jacob Alldredge, Joel West, Kaleb Baugh, and Josh West.
