Thomas “Tommy” Leland Belew, 60, of Huntsville, AL, passed away on Tuesday, January 7th at his home.
Tommy was born in Huntsville, Alabama, on May 7th, 1964. He grew up on Monte Sano Mountain and went to Huntsville High School, going on to study at The University of Alabama. He was ever-curious, intelligent, and creative, which empowered him to carve his own path by starting several successful small businesses.
He was a passionate, innovative, playfully goofy, and genuinely kind soul who had a plethora of love for his family and friends. His love for his kids was larger than life from day one. His tender heart also held a special spot for animals, and he adored caring for wildlife animals that would visit his yard.
Tommy had a passion for music and playing guitar; and relished meaningful conversations with loved ones, laughing with others, and pursuing new hobbies to fulfill his curious spirit.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Jim and Freida Belew.
Tommy is survived by his children, Holden and Wiley Belew of Huntsville; sister, Diana Salter (David) of Birmingham; and his closely cherished life-long friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 16th at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, immediately followed by the funeral service. Close family and friends are invited to join as we lay him in peace at Maple Hill Cemetery directly following the memorial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Tommy’s honor to The Greater Huntsville Humane Society.
