Thomas Leon Garrett Sr., age 76, of Florence passed away Friday, August 8th , 2014. Visitation will be Sunday August 10th, 1:00-3:00 PM at Florence Blvd Church of Christ. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at the Church with Bro. Dale Boren and Wayne Garrett officiating. Burial will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Grandsons and Nephews. He was a member of Florence Blvd Church of Christ, retired from Reynolds/ Wise after 40 years of service where he was known as “SY” among his co-workers. Mr. Garrett also served 8 years National Guard and was considered by many to be the best Shade Tree Mechanic around.. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Laverna Monahan. Survivors include his wife, Mary Garrett of Florence Son, Thomas Garrett (Pennie) of Killen, Daughter, Brenda Waller (Don) of Florence. Sister, Linda Reeves of Nashville. Brothers, Wayne Garrett, of Hoover, AL. Eddie Garrett, of New Bern, North Carolina. Grandchildren, Donnie Waller, Kensley Monahan, Molly Odom, Abby and Kailey Garrett, Krissy Renae, and Kevin Monahan. Great Grandchildren, Nick and Jared Waller, Benjamin, Jacob, Aidan and Olivia Monahan. Special Nieces and Nephews.
