Thomas Edward “Ed” Dodson, 90, of Huntsville passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at
Huntsville Hospital.
Ed was born in Huntsville on November 20, 1932, to Clyde and Jewel Dodson. He was a 1951 graduate of
West Huntsville High School and a graduate of the University of Alabama in Huntsville. He proudly
served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Following his service, he became a civil servant on
Redstone Arsenal where he served in a number of different roles throughout his more than 30-year
career.
Following his retirement, he and his wife, Martha, along with their son, Jon, founded T.E. Dodson
Homebuilders. After retiring from homebuilding, he enjoyed cooking, travel, music, and spending time
with his family and friends. He was an active member of Jackson Way Baptist Church where he taught
Sunday School for many decades, worked in the food pantry and tv ministries and with vacation bible
school.
Ed is survived by his children, Pam (Brian) of Atlanta, Ga.; Jon (Becky) and Joe (Tammie) of Huntsville;
three grandchildren, Andrew Dodson, Jessica Dodson, and Emily Dodson; two step-grandchildren,
Jackson Litz and Harry Litz; one sister, Vivian Brown; one brother, Rick Dodson, half-sister, Selena
Billions, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his
wife, Martha Dodson and his brother, Samuel Dodson.,
Visitation will be
on Friday, December 16 from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Spry funeral Home with services immediately
following.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Jackson Way Baptist Church.
