TUSCUMBIA-It’s that time of the year …time to celebrate the life and accomplisments of Tuscumbia’s own…Helen Keller. In Tuscumbia every day is a Keller celebration, but this time of the year is special…it is the time to celebrate with the Helen Keller festival and with the play “The Miracle Worker”.
This year the play is in the 54th year of production at Ivy Green, home of Helen Keller. Director, Darren Butler says the new set lends a more kindship to the actual house. The sets are new this year thanks to many hours of donated time and the efforts of Dr Dave K. Ruebhausen associate theatre professor at UNA.
This years production starts Friday, June 6th and will run through July 11. Shows will be on Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 pm with gates opening at 6:45pm located on the grounds of historic Ivy Green, Keller’s home at 300 North Commons Street in tuscumbia. Tickets are $15 for reserved seating and $10 for General admission. Ticket purchase includes a tour of The Keller home as well
