DECATUR-Dr. Mary Beth Johns, Athens State University art instructor at the, has implemented a way to show support to the victims and citizens of Paris after last week’s terror attacks.
Dr. Johns has placed a template of the Eiffel Tower in the lobby of the ACA. We are encouraging students, visitors to the center, and anyone to trace the Eiffel Tower onto the provided 4×6 art paper; take it and make it into art; and then return the art to ACA. We plan to display the returned art in our windows and eventually mail the mini works of art to Paris to show our support of the city.
The Alabama City for the Arts is located at 133 2nd Avenue NE, Decatur, Alabama 35601 or you can call 256.260.4299.
Please feel free to join in this artistic support of the “City of Love.” The city of Paris is also known as the “City of Light” because it was the center of education and new ideas.
