Thalia Fern Underwood, 70, of Florence, passed away Nov. 3, 2015, at ECM Hospital after a brief illness. She was an administrative assistant for Carl Tyree and retired from TVA. Her biggest hobby was keeping her yard looking pristine and listening to Alabama football. She was a direct descendent of the Underwood family that founded the Underwood community and school.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at Greenview Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until noon. The funeral service will begin at noon in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Henry Melton officiating.
Mrs. Underwood was preceded in death by her parents, Fletcher and Velma Underwood.
She is survived by her brother, Milton Fletcher Underwood Sr. (Ruth); nephews, Milton F. Underwood Jr. (Lynn), Tony Underwood (Mitzi) and Patrick Underwood (Holly); and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
