Terry Lee Daniel – Obituary

Terry Lee Daniel, 70, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at his home. He was born May 23, 1947, in Vina, Alabama to Otho Durant and Aberdeen Smelser Daniel. He was a Christian and a retired farmer. He was a chemical worker for Cherokee Nitrogen where he worked for 38-and-a-half years. He was a member of United Steel Workers Association and served as president of United Steel Workers Union in Cherokee, Alabama.

Services will be Saturday, June 24, 1 p.m., at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Red Bay, Alabama, with Brother Glen Bridgmon officiating and speakers Billy Bolton and Barry Daniel. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Red Bay, Alabama. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, Alabama, will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Brenda Coker Daniel, Red Bay, Alabama; one son, Barry Daniel (Niki), Killen, Alabama; one daughter, Amanda Ridge, Red Bay, Alabama; his four grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Carson and Carter Daniel, Killen, Alabama, and Dalton and Dixie Ridge, Red Bay, Alabama; one sister, Sharon Joan Aday (Russell), Killen, Alabama; one brother, Marcus Daniel (Rita), Red Bay, Alabama; mother-in-law, Julia Coker, Belmont, Mississippi; sister-in-law, Anita Childers (Keith), Florence, Alabama; nieces and nephews, Michael Aday, Brad Childers, Kirk Childers, Katy McGee, Julia Daniel, Emily Daniel, and Lora Childers; his aunt, Celestine Durham (Harchel), Alexandria, Alabama; his uncle, Fay Parrish, Dennis, Mississippi; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law, L.C. Coker.

Pallbearers will be Jon Petree, Doug Liles, Jimmy Mitchell, Michael Aday, Tony Armstrong, and Ralph Winchester. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Cox, Bobby Joe Williams, Aulsie Bolton, and Harold Strickland.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at lbda.org in his memory.

The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, Jamie Lane, Rachel Harvey, Whitney Walker, Megan Horton, Fred Karthaus, Kay Holt, and Barbara Russell.
