Teresa Elaine Wright, aged 65, of Athens, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 4th, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center, located in Tupelo, Mississippi. Born on February 25th, 1960, in Lincoln County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Homer and Marvelene Hamlin Jones.
Mrs. Wright is remembered by her daughters, Charlotte Thompson (DeWayne) and Brandy Gainer (Kevin); her son, Jeremy Patterson (Erin); her cherished 20 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Sharon Hicks (Donnie), Buck Jones (Missy), Charles Payne, Gail Melton (J.D.), Barbara Pigg, Pam Carter, and Kathy Kelly (Jackie). As well as her two fur babies, Scooter and Dexter. She is preceded by her parents, Homer and Marvelene Jones, her husband, Vince Wright, and granddaughters Chasidy Thompson and Tiffany Thompson.
Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects at the visitation for Mrs. Wright on Thursday, January 8th, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 9th, at 1:00 PM at the same location, with Pastor Doug Colwell officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Wright will be laid to rest at Gatlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Wright was a special lady, dearly loved by all who knew her. She had a passion for playing Bingo and enjoyed attending auctions, where her vibrant personality shone. Her presence will be deeply missed by friends and family alike.
