Tana Holt Hilyer, 69, of Huntsville, passed away Sunday at her home. Tana was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 9, 1952, and grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. Tana graduated from Jefferson Davis High School in Montgomery, Alabama in 1968. She studied at the University of South Alabama.
Tana loved life. She enjoyed cooking, crafts, sewing, and she loved to throw a party. She worked for Honeywell, Inc. as an event coordinator after college. In later years, Tana became a paralegal working in the Alabama Justice System. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her granddaughter, Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her father, “Big” John Holt and mother, Evelyn Holt. Survivors include her husband, Charles Marion Hilyer; daughter, Nicole Hilyer-Maddox (Dev) of Tampa, Florida; son, John Payton Hilyer (Mike) of Huntsville, Alabama; and one granddaughter, Morgan Kennedy Maddox of Homewood, Alabama.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home, 2320 Bob Wallace Drive, Huntsville, AL 35805.
