Talmage Victor Rainey – Obituary

Talmage Victor Rainey, 77, Leighton, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at his residence.

Victor loved to be outside fixing anything he could. He was a Nascar fan. He loved all his family and will be missed by all.

The visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Spry Memorial Chapel, with burial following in Blackground Cemetery, Town Creek. 

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Dorothy Rainey; children, Susan Cook, Margaret Harvey, Teresa Richards, and Judy Garrie; stepchildren, Gary Hughes, Randy Hughes, Tony Hughes, Tammy Harris, Phillip Hughes, and Shanda Cryer; eight grandchildren; 11 stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Ivy Dale Campbell and Frankie Foster; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Talmage and Mary Rainey; brothers, Vernon, Lawrence, and LeRoy Rainey; sister, Lucille Davidson; grandson, Maylon Harvey; and stepson, David Hughes.

The pallbearers will be Randy Hughes, Phillip Hughes, LeRoy Rainey, Preston Dothard, Bobby Cryer, and Cody Baty. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Cruz, John Harris, Russell Cook, Wilford Cosby, Randy Foster, and Tony Hughes.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Brother Rod Stansky and to the staff of Alacare Hospice for your love and care of our family.
