Suzanne Callahan Tune, 97, of Florence, went to be with the Lord Nov. 16, 2013, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 19, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, at Redeemer Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Scott Barber and the Rev. Gary Nantt Officiating. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Tune was born in Athens, Ala., and was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church of Florence. She lived in many places with her family because her husband, T.L. Tune Jr., was in the U.S. Air Force. She was a kindergarten teacher and retired after teaching for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers. Survivors are a sister, Carolyn Thigpen; son, James L. Tune; daughter, Carol Ann Nantt, and husband, Gary; brother-in-law, James Thelon Tune and wife, Carolyn, of Newton, Miss.; grandchildren, Aimee E. Nantt, of North Carolina, and Bradley S. Nantt and wife, Jennifer; great-granddaughter, Sofia, of Texas.
The family would like to thank the staff of Mitchell-Hollingsworth Nursing Home and Dr. Bartmess for their loving care of Mrs. Tune during her illness.
