Suzanne Bowden Sammons, 67 of the Oleander Community, died Sunday October 1, 2017 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mrs. Sammons was born February 23, 1950 in Beaver Falls Pennsylvania to Gene Bowden and Anna Sue Glaser Bowden. She received an Associate Degree from the University of Missouri and was employed as a Legal Librarian for the Redstone Arsenal until her retirement in 2011. She enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, crocheting and arts and crafts. She loved shopping, her dogs and especially loved Christmas.
She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church #2.
Mrs. Sammons is survived by her husband of 48 years: Ronnie Sammons; her mother: Anna Sue Glaser Dean; her son Ronald Barry Sammons; her daughter and son-in-law: Melissa Sue Sammons-Gudis and Stephen and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Roger and Janell Sammons. She was preceded in death by her father: Gene Bowden and her step father: George Leonard McBee.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday October 4, 2017 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church #2 with Brother: Bryan C. Mosley, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Barry Sammons, Stephen Sammons, Roger Sammons, Harrield Willingham, James Stewart and David Feemster.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday October 3, 2017 at Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City. She will also lie in state at the Church from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
