Susan Diane Borden, age 62, of Russellville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2026.
Susan was known for her fierce love and devotion to her family. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her world, and she treasured every moment spent with them. She enjoyed crafting, cheering on Alabama football, and rarely went anywhere without her beloved Diet Mountain Dew.
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Borden; her mother, Betty (Lindsey) Borden; her daughter, Jennifer Fretwell; and her grandson, Jase Fretwell.
Susan is survived by her son, Lee Fugate (Amber); her daughter, Nikki Murray (Matt); her sisters, Donna Mansell (Roger) and Karen McAfee (Phillip); her brother, Joel Borden; her cherished grandchildren: Hunter, Noah, Emoree, Anna, Makenna, Lennox, Emma, and Linley; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held Monday, March 9, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville, with the funeral service to follow at 1:30 p.m. The burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Matt Murray, Lee Fugate, Hunter Baker, Noah Fretwell, Roger Mansell, and Cody Mansell.
While her family grieves her loss, they find comfort in knowing she is now reunited in heaven with her beloved daughter, Jennifer, and grandson, Jase.
