Suanne Asquith Lewellyn, 61, passed away on her birthday, August 27, 2019, surrounded by her loving family, following a yearlong battle with metastatic breast cancer. Suanne was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Shackelton and grandson, Tristen Lewellyn.
She is survived by her loving, devoted husband, Jeffrey Lewellyn; stepchildren, Brooke Bedwell (Tate) and Steven Lewellyn; grandsons, Brody Bedwell and Beckett Bedwell; parents, Frank and Josie Asquith; father-in-law, Wallace Lewellyn; sisters, Glenda Cothran (Johnny) and Sharon Beaird (Rob); nieces, Kelly Cothran, Stephanie Teague (Chris) and Sarah Cothran; nephews, Brian Beaird (Susan) and John Cothran (Veronica); and sister-in-law, Jennifer Lewellyn.
Suanne grew up in Huntsville, AL and graduated from Virgil I. Grissom High School. She recently earned an Associate of Computer Science from Colorado Technology University. Suanne lived most of her adult life in Colorado Springs, CO where she worked at Focus on the Family, MCI and Verizon. Suanne liked to travel. During her marriage to Jeff they traveled to Cancun four times, Jamaica twice, and once to Hawaii.
Suanne loved her Lord Jesus Christ most of all and made her family a priority. She taught Sunday school and was always “adopting” others’ kids and grandchildren as her own. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Suanne will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Community Fellowship Baptist Church. She will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kobacker House Hospice in Columbus, Ohio.
