Sarah Geraldine Busby Roberts, 85, was born in Bessemer, Alabama and passed peacefully from this life on 29 August 2019 at her home in Huntsville, Alabama, surrounded by her family.

Geraldine, as she was known to many, graduated from Hueytown High School in 1952 and later graduated from Carraway Methodist Nursing School to pursue a career in nursing. She worked in nursing for several years in the Birmingham area, where she met her future husband and moved to the Huntsville area to work in nursing and raise her family. She worked in nursing at both Huntsville Hospital neonatal intensive care and eventually Medical Center’s infant unit before finally retiring from nursing. Geraldine never retired from being a caregiver for other people, making certain her many friends and family who needed assistance or special care did not go without her help. She was a member of Holmes Street United Methodist Church and the Oak Grove Chapter of the Eastern Star.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Roberts “Bill/Dink”, her daughter, Cindy Roberts Judy, her parents, John and Nora Busby, and her siblings, Lawrence “Pete” Busby and Johnnie Battles. Survivors include the twins, Susan Gatlin (Tom) and William Roberts (Mildred); her daughter, Patricia Bahr (Curtis), and her son, Douglas Roberts (Amanda); son-in-law Keith Judy; eleven grandchildren, Will Roberts (Erin), Patrick Johnson, Sarah Roberts (Greg), Nora Isham (Lee), Kenny Bahr, John Henry Gatlin, Robert Bahr, Anna Grace Roberts, Andrew Roberts, Gabriel Gatlin, and Avery Roberts; three great-grandchildren, Lillian and Ben Martin, William Julian Roberts; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
