Su “Sweetie” Il Rowan, aged 69, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, December 3rd, 2025, at Athens Limestone Hospital. Born on November 11th, 1956, in Seoul, South Korea, she was the daughter of Chang Kil Pak and Tae Hui Yi.
Mrs. Rowan leaves behind a loving family who cherishes her memory. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mark Rowan, and her children: Angela Aaron (Jason) of Kenton, Ohio; Andria Zapp (Jeremy) of Madison, Alabama; Christopher Rowan of Greensboro, North Carolina; Christina Rowan of Athens, Alabama; and Rebecca Rowan of Athens, Alabama. She was also a proud grandmother to Caleb, Abigail, Isaac, Josiah, Abraham, Joshua, Jude, Arabella, and Savannah, and a great-grandmother to Kimiko Su.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation to honor and remember Mrs. Rowan on Saturday, December 6th, 2025, at LifeGate Church in Madison, Alabama, from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Penton officiating. Mrs. Rowan will be laid to rest at Bottoms Cemetery.
Mrs. Rowan was a cherished member of LifeGate Church and a former member of Abundant Life Tabernacle in Columbus, Ohio. Known for her warmth and kindness, she was a wonderful wife and mother. The joy of her life was undoubtedly her grandchildren, who held a special place in her heart.
