Strong storm hits Sheffield bluffs… More damage than you might think – PHOTOS

NORTHWEST ALABAMA – On radar last night about 5 o’clock, one could see the heavy wave of weather moving ominously toward Lauderdale County. A big, thick band of red. Strong storms raked through The Shoals, bringing heavy rain and lots of wind. And in just a few minutes it seemed… It was gone.

But left behind, there was a rash of torn up building and uprooted trees. Hundreds of people throughout Lauderdale and Colbert lost electricity, and many are still without power a half a day later.

The Quad-Cities Daily was out this morning in Colbert taking a photo survey. Indeed some of our readers sent us photos. We present them here.
