Steven “Steve” David Templeton, age 75, of Huntsville AL, was peacefully welcomed into the kingdom of heaven on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, joining his parents, brother and his best buddy, Max.
Steve was born June 7, 1949, to Lt. Colonel Floyd Avon Templeton and Margulein Holland Templeton in Sacramento, CA. He graduated from Herschel V. Jenkins High School in Savannah, GA in 1967, after which he attended The University of North Carolina for both his undergraduate and law degrees.
Steve had a successful career as a trust attorney working in Charlottesville, VA, Durham, NC, and Huntsville, AL. In his later career, Steve was a small business owner in Huntsville.
In his retirement, Steve enjoyed cooking for friends and family, working in his yard, closely following the UNC Tar Heels and spending time with beloved dog, Max.
Steve was a loving son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Robert Templeton, and is survived by his sister, Susan Templeton Neaves; and his children, Mark Denton Templeton, Emily Lauren Kamburov and their relations; including large number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, cousins and in-laws whom he cared about deeply.
A family graveside service will be held in Union Grove, NC on March 15, 2025.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Huntsville Downtown Dog Spot in honor of Steve and Max, where they spent countless hours with each other and their friends.
