Steven Michael “Mike” Richardson, 60, passed away peacefully on June 14th at his home in Bridgeton, Missouri.
Mike was born February 5, 1956, in Pineville, Louisiana, the son of Robert and Carline (Reed) Richardson. He grew up in Russellville, Alabama and graduated with pride from Auburn University of which he remained a faithful “War Eagle” throughout his life.
Mike moved to Kansas City in 1979 where he met his beloved wife of 32 years, Laura (Kelsey). They married May 26, 1984, and together raised two beautiful daughters in Blue Springs, Missouri where they lived for more than 20 years. Mike began his purchasing career at Allis-Chalmers and became an active member of his community. He spent his years in Blue Springs volunteering at city and school events and coaching his girls in sports and life. He opened his home to all friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert; brother, David; his granddaughter, Evelyn Cook; and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Carline; wife, Laura; daughters, Kelly Cook and Monica; son-in-law, Cody Cook; brother, Bobby; and several loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A memorial service will be held at A.W. Todd Centre, Washington Ave. SW, Russellville, Alabama, on Tuesday, June 21, from 1-5 p.m.
