Steve Harlan Sims, age 85 of Manchester, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Flintville on October 11, 1936 to the late Grady and Beatrice (Tant) Sims. Before his retirement, he was employed by Batesville Corporation. Steve enjoyed spending time outside bush-hogging, fishing, and gardening, as well as shopping at flea markets. He was an animal lover and especially enjoyed spending time with his dog, Sassy. Steve was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Frances Sims Watts; granddaughter, Candace Sims; and daughter-in-law, Sharon Jernigan Sims. Steve is survived by his loving wife of sixty-six years, Phyllis Sims; children, Eddie (Susan) Sims, Debbie (Roger) Boylan, Bruce (Pam) Sims; grandchildren, Jennifer (Billy) Bellamy, Jonathan (Melissa) Boylan, Shawna Lemons, Tiffany (Chad) Sitz, and Garrett (Courtney) Sims; fourteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Bonnie (Johnny) Cash, and Ray (Charlotte) Sims; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 10 am- 12 pm on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 12 noon in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro.
