Stella Lucas Boone, 91, of Huntsville passed away Thursday. Stella was born to James Walker Lucas Jr. and May Elizabeth Whiteacre Lucas. She graduated from Millsaps College in 1951 and married Charles Boone. She worked in Louise and Jackson MS and spent 14 years at Huntsville Middle School as an office staffer.
Stella was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Alter Guild, taught Sunday school and enjoyed serving as a Stephen minister.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and sons, Charles William Boone, Jr. and Jeffrey Lucas Boone, Survivors include sons, Walter Boone and Ralph Boone (Vickie), daughter-in-law, Leslie McDaniel; grandchildren, Curtis William Boone, Alan McDaniel Boone, Karlie Ann Boone, Brandon Pate, Greg Allison, Jessica Allison Bodiford; great-grandchildren, Alicia Allison, Braden Cole Bodiford, Adalyn Quinn Bodiford, ZeAnna Pate, Shiloh Pate, Braisley Pate.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 25, 2022 at First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Coy Halmark officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Stephen Ministry at First United Methodist Church, 120 Greene Street Huntsville 35801, Kindred Hospice, 5000 Bradford Drive #3a Huntsville 35805 or a charity of choice.
