Splendi T. Ward age 95 of Athens, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 at Athens Rehab and Senior Care. Ms. Ward was born September 30, 1920 in Rosedale, MS to Antoni Pretti and Romea Faccini Pretti.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Athens, AL. Funeral services will be Friday, April 15, 2016 11:00 a.m., at Christ The King Catholic Church, 785 Church Rd. South Haven, MS. with Rev. Paul Canonici officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Mid Town in Memphis, TN.
Ms. Ward was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church Athens, AL.
Preceded in death by her parents, Antoni and Romea Pretti; two brothers and two sisters.
Survived by one son, Tony Ward and wife, Melissa of Athens; one daughter, Beverly Matlock of Somerville, TN; two grandchildren, Lisa Baker and husband, Michael of Somerville, TN and Jeff Matlock and wife, Valorie of Munford , TN; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Victor Pretti and wife, Josephine of Walls, MS; one sister, Alice Facelli of South Haven, MS.
