Nellie Jo Phillips, 81 of Hazel Green, Alabama died on Monday, April 11, 2016, at her home.
She was born Thursday, January 17, 1935 in Roswell, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas LeCroy and the late Alma Tidwell LeCroy. She was a member of Carter’s Grove Baptist Church and enjoyed sewing, quilting, and especially her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Clyde Junior Phillips, and a daughter: Shirley Miller.
Surviving are daughters, Martha Ellen Phillips of Huntsville, AL; and Janice Carol (Lynn) Rogers of Toney, AL; brother, Thomas Earl LeCroy of Brownsboro, AL, nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 4 gr-grgrandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Carter’s Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in New Sharon Cemetery, Hazel Green, AL. The body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until 1:00 P.M.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, April 15, 2016, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
