Special Weather Statement From National Weather Service

TENNESSEE VALLEY-The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Thursday, January 5:

"...Light Snow Accumulations Expected Across Northern Alabama and
Southern Middle Tennessee on Friday ...

Light snowfall will develop and move east across the area beginning as
early as daybreak on Friday across NW Alabama and continue through
Friday evening across areas east of Interstate 65. A light accumulation
is possible, with amounts up to 0.5 inch. Although widespread travel
problems are not anticipated, minor impacts are possible. Therefore
caution should be used when traveling on elevated roadways, bridges,
and overpasses.

Uncertainty remains high on the exact placement of higher snowfall
totals. The latest forecasts should be monitored for updates
regarding snowfall amounts and any potential impacts."
