Lester D. Thorn, age 92 of Tuscumbia died Tuesday, January 3, 2017. His family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia.
His funeral service will be Friday, 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Mr. Thorn was a Colbert County native and was a life-long resident of the Hawk Pride Mountain Community. He was a member of Crooked Oak Baptist Church for sixty-six years where he served as a Deacon, and was retired from Union Carbide. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ruth Hodge Thorn.
He survived by his sons; Wayne D. Thorn and wife Joyce of Prattville, AL, Charles E. Thorn and wife Angela of Water Valley, MS., daughters; Nancy T. Kimbrough and husband, Jerry of Baton Rouge, LA, Mary Alice Gaines of Florence, AL, Sheree T. Wood and husband Brad of Somerville, AL; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Pallbearers are grandsons.
