DEKALB COUNTY– The Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office released a statement concerning the arrest of two suspects after a car chase in the county on Thursday, September 21:
“On September 21st at approximately 1:00 am A DeKalb County Deputy observed a vehicle sitting in the middle of County Road 964, when the deputy pulled in behind the vehicle with blue lights on, the vehicle took off at a high-speed. Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and Albertville Police where contacted about the pursuit heading into their County. As the vehicle turned around at the Marshal County line they wrecked in a ditch. At which time driver of the vehicle Jose Guadalupe Perez, 28 of Albertville and passenger Miguel DeJesus, 22 of Kilpatrick was placed under arrest. As a result of a search of the vehicle the following items were found; open containers of beer, a cooler of beer, clear pipe with white residue, a clear baggie with an off white

substance inside that tested positive for meth, and inside the trunk a short barrel shotgun, another shotgun, and brass knuckles.
Both Perez and Jesus were charged with Attempt to elude, reckless endangerment, Drug Paraphernalia, Short bar rifle/shotgun possession, unlawful possession of prohibited beverage, carrying brass knuckles/sling shot, and unlawful possession of controlled substance. Perez was also arrested for two warrants for probation violation and reckless endangerment.
Chief Deputy Edmondson says “thanks to Marshall County’s Deputies, Albertville Police, Geraldine Police and our Deputies for their quick response in this pursuit. They did a great job on arresting these two individuals without any incident.”
