In the 1970’s she moved to Dillingham, Alaska and purchased the Sea Inn Bar. She ran the bar for 20+years and was on the local school board. At retirement she moved back to Dumas and built her dream home and married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Mize. Together they adopted Kristle T. Holliday and enjoyed raising a daughter together. Shirley was extremely active in her grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed spending time with Jack, Brady, Gracyn and Cason. She resided the last 10 years in Davidson, North Carolina to help raise her grandchildren.
She was a very active member of Dumas Methodist Church and grew up with Brother Doc Shelton. She enjoyed time with her church family and attending church together.
Shirley loved deeply and cherished her friends and family members. She was truly the very best daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is already missed by so many!
We love her a bushel and peck forever!! Fly high the sweetest mother in the world and may you finally be pain free and be with Jesus. God Bless.
