Shirley Smith, 91, of Decatur, passed away on July 12, 2026. Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 12:00 – 1:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 1:00pm with Alan Watkins officiating. She will be laid to rest at Roselawn Cemetery.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Roger (Marsha) Smith and Barry (Lori) Smith; grandchildren, Adrienne Smith Lacks, Stephen Craig, Chad Smith, Whitney Smith, Brittany Craig, Amber Smith, Mary Della Sanders, Bud Sanders, John Robert Sanders and George Sanders, as well as 11 great grandchildren.
She is preceded by her husband, Levi Smith; parents, Jasper and Mae Roberts; daughter, Amy Smith Sanders; sister, Carolyn Roberts Parker, and brother JC Roberts.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Shirley taught Sunday School at Beech Street Church of Christ and Point Mallard Church of Christ. She retired from Decatur Housing Authority after over 40 years of service.
Pallbearers will be the grandson and great grandsons, Stephen Craig, Bud Sanders, John Robert Sanders, George Sanders, Bryant Smith and Sutton Smith.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Jacksonville Health and Rehab for their excellent care. Also, special thanks to Dr. Scott Matthews for his years of care.
