Shirley Ruth Butler, age 84 of Addison, passed away Saturday, February 01, 2025 at Hendrix Health and Rehabilition Center in Double Springs. She was born May 11, 1940 to Larkin and Mamie Walker. Shirley enjoyed cooking for her family. She was a wonderful mother and was a long-time member at Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained very active in the church. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 04, 2025 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison. Service will be held on Wednesday, February 05, at 1:00 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church No. 2, where she will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining Cemetery. Brother William McClellan will officiate. Shirley was survived by her children, Ricky (Rhonda) Butler, Roger Butler, Andy (Marietta) Butler, and Danny (Lori) Butler; grandchildren, Jessicca (Jay) Carter, Kourtney (Brad) Wright, Chase (Raven) Butler, Kamron (Summer) Butler, Tyler Butler, Casey (Kristen) Butler, Katie Butler, Hayden Butler, Reilly Butler, Macey Butler and Hadley Butler; Twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, Larken (Mamie) Walker; spouse, Bobby Butler and son, David Butler.
