Shirley Rose Martin, age 63 of Haleyville, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was born May 16, 1955 to Buddy and Effie Whitten. “Mrs. Shirley,” as she was known, served as a volunteer for the Haleyville City School System for many years.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 12:00 NOON- 2:00 p.m. at Pinkard Funeral Home in Haleyville, where the service will be held at 2:00 p.m. . Burial will be in Dempsey Cemetery in Russellville, AL. Bro. Jeff Whitten will officiate the service.
Mrs. Martin is survived by her husband of 46 years, Tommy Martin; daughters, Laurie (D.J.) Gardner and Michelle (Richard) Brown; grandchildren, Madison Martin, Andrew Gardner, Anna Gardner, Wesley Guyton, Amber Gardner, Hayden Motes, and Hadley Brown; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Father-in-law, Jesse Martin; brothers, Charles Whitten, Buddy Whitten, Mack Arthur Whitten, and George Whitten; and Sister, Gail whitten.
