Shirley Hornsby Chaffin passed away Jan 2, 2026. Ms Chaffin was born in Albertville in 1935 and attended school in and near that area until her family moved to Birmingham around 1950. She graduated from Phillips High School in Birmingham in 1953 and soon after began work at Western Auto, where she continued her career until the late 1980’s. At that time, she returned to Albertville where she lived for the remainder of her life. She is survived by her daughter Cynthia Burton (husband Brad), grandson Kurtis Graben (wife Cheyenne), great-granddaughter Kennedy Graben, grandson Christopher Graben, great-granddaughter Arley Graben, and a sister Sandra Hornsby Ziglin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin & Jewel Hornsby, and her siblings, Juanita Marshman, Sue Belrose, Jimmie Hornsby, and Mike Hornsby.
