Shirley was a member of Rock Springs Presbyterian Church in Mount Hope where she was the pianist for many years. Her love of music began early in life. She started playing at her church when only 10 years old.
When asked what her fondest memories were, they all included family, friends, music, singing and laughing. Shirley worked for K-Mart in Muscle Shoals for many years and only retired in 2012. She loved life and always offered kind words of encouragement to everyone she encountered. She strived every day to create an incredibly beautiful and comfortable homelife for her family and friends. Her flower and vegetable gardens as well as the delicious meals she always had prepared were truly enjoyed by her family. She was the true definition of what a mother, grandmother and wife is to be in God’s eyes. Always forgiving, loving, kind and generous. She leaves behind a great calling to all that knew her to pay it forward instilling to future generations what God wants us to be to our family, friends and those who we meet on a daily basis.
