Shelby Jean Chambers, 72 of Ardmore, Tennessee died on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at her home.
Born Friday, November 22, 1940 in Hatfield, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Hi Ray and the late Cindy Jane Hunt Ray. She was a member of Turkey Creek Free Will Baptist Church in Turkey Creek, Kentucky. She was very outspoken and loved to talk. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Allen Wesley “Buddy” Chambers, brothers: Willard Ray, Wallace Ray, and George Ray, and a grandson: George E. Greene III.
Surviving are sons, George E. Greene of Ardmore, AL, Charles E. Greene of Kansas, and John E. Greene of Langston, AL, daughters, Lucinda Jane Cannon of Hazel Green, AL, Irita Adcock of Ardmore, AL and Norma Jean Acton of Ardmore, AL, sisters, Norma Hughes of Turkey Creek, KY and Christine Deel of Vridgesell, DE, fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama with Bro. Lynn Marshall officiating. Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 4, 2013, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, Alabama.
