Sharon Ann Nelson, age 76, of Tuscumbia, Alabama, passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014. Visitation will be will be today from 10-11 a.m. in the Colbert Memorial Chapel with service to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel.
She was the wife of Wayne Nelson of 55 wonderful years. Sharon was of Methodist faith, a devoted wife, mother, loving grandmother, and was a wonderful cook.
Survivors are husband, Wayne Nelson; son, Robert Nelson; daughters, Lori Murray (Kenny) and Susan Grimmitt (Charlie); and grandchildren, Stephanie Taylor, Hannah Nelson, Garret Nelson, Mason Grimmitt, and Ainslie Grimmitt.

Wayne and family, I want to send my deepest sympathy to you and your family about Sharon. I heard about her death from my sister who lives in Huntsville. I was so shocked to hear about her. I think of the old days in high school when we were best friends and spent much time together, laughing all night and keeping everyone awake. I am so sorry about your loss and once my good friend. May God bless you and sure this time has not been easy for you without her. We lost our son when he was 16 and know how difficult it is to go through the dark days of a loved one. Just wanted you to know my own sister died not long after Sharon, it was Jan 9, 2014. She was in an assisted living home in Florence, Al when she passed away. I miss her. We have been married about the same length of time, we have been married 56 years. Just know that I will still remember her sweet laugh and the fun times when we were in our teens.
