Seth Berry Stalcup, Jr. age 80, of Florence, passed away on Tuesday, January 2nd , 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, January 4th from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home. The service will follow at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Entombment will be at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

He was preceded in death by his parents Seth and Avis Stalcup of Phil Campbell, and his first wife of 23 years, Dianne Smith Stalcup of Florence.

Berry is survived by his wife of 31 years, Judy and their blended family; Jeff Stalcup (Parke) of Birmingham, Jason Stalcup (Kyle Barber) of Nashville, Leah Stalcup Sucic (Jason) of Birmingham, Heath Willingham (Shanna) of Auburn, and Audrey Willingham Frohnhoefer (Thom) of Hohenfels, Germany; grandchildren, Noah, David, Joshua, Jacob and Seth Stalcup of Birmingham, Rivers and August Sucic of Birmingham, Sophia and Sara Willingham of Auburn, Maggie, Haley, Nathan, James and Mary Ella Frohnhoefer of Hohenfels, Germany. He is also survived by Drake, his Yellow Lab, who he loved very much.

He served in the United State Army from 1969 to 1971 and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War.  Berry graduated from Phil Campbell High School in 1962, Florence State College in 1967 and received his Master’s in 1972 from the University of Mississippi. He was a fisheries biologist for TVA from 1972 until he retired in 2003.  After retirement from TVA, Berry spent time fishing, playing tennis, reading, watching westerns and spending time with friends and family.

The pallbearers will be Jeff Stalcup, Jason Stalcup, Heath Willingham, Jason Sucic, Kyle Barber and Clay Stalcup.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
