Sarah Evelyn (Green) Robison, 84, of Loretto, Tennessee, passed away on July 13, 2026. Born on July 30, 1941, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to Robert Clinton and Ethel Ellis Green, Sarah lived a life full of love, faith, creativity, and community.
Sarah raised her children in Austin, Texas, before returning more than 20 years ago to Loretto, the hometown she loved and never truly left behind.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Waite and husband Scott Waite, and their children, Ryan Waite and Taylor Waite; her son, Mike Robison and wife Amy, and their children, Caroline Robison Cure and husband Fulton, Alexandra Robison Stogner and husband Will, Nicholas Robison, and Sam Robison; and her great-granddaughter, Lainey Willow Cure.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Clinton and Ethel Ellis Green; her brother, Robert Rex Green; and her sister, Betty Wynell Green Byrd.
Sarah was an avid sports fan, especially of her beloved Loretto High School Mustangs. Among her most cherished memories was being a member of the 1958 Loretto High School basketball team that won the very first TSSAA Girls’ State Tournament — she played starting guard back when girls’ basketball was played half-court, with three forwards and three guards, and she loved recalling those special days with her teammates. Her devotion to Loretto athletics never wavered; in the fall of 2025, she was recognized as the Varsity Basketball Boys and Girls teams’ number one fan. She not only supported the teams and players but always found a way to encourage the coaches through wins and losses, and she rarely missed a game.
While raising her family in Austin, Sarah was a devoted homemaker. After returning to Loretto, she worked at the Board of Education in Lawrence County, Tennessee, and later spent a brief time back in Texas working at Westwood High School in Austin.
Sarah was an active member of Loretto Methodist Church, served as Regent for the Buffalo River Chapter of the DAR (2016–2019), and was a member of the Christian Women’s Club for several years. She was known throughout her community for being vibrant, loving, and joyful.
A gifted and creative artist, Sarah’s favorite hobby was decorating eggs in the intricate style of Carl Fabergé. She was a member of the International Egg Art Guild and attended the Dallas Egg Show for more than 25 years, along with other shows around the country, where she was known for her handcrafted flowers. She also crafted delicate sugar flowers that adorned countless wedding cakes.
During her illness these past two months, Sarah was blessed with visitors of all ages from across her community — a testament to the many lives she touched.
