Sarah Ellen Stolz, age 85, of Decatur, entered the gates of Heaven on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on July 12, 1940, in Lawrence County, Alabama, to Walter Oren Borden and Bertha Mae Nicholson. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found great joy in crocheting blankets for her grandchildren as they grew up, gifting each a piece of her love and care.
Sarah is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Billy) Baker; three grandchildren, Heather (Daniel) Feld, Christopher (Eydi) Totton, and Alichia (Bradley) Sanford; and seven great-grandchildren, Sarah Spencer, Jacob Spencer, Mackenzie Spencer, Megan Harshaw, Hunter Morrison, Christopher Totton Vasquez, and Mia Totton Vasquez.
Memorial services will be held at a later date and time.
